This exciting Lodge safari will take you through the Ngorongoro Conservation area and get a glimpse of the fascinating Masai culture who live within the conservation area around the Crater which is a world heritage site, with abudance of wildlife that is protected within the confines of the Crater walls
Day 1: Nairobi/ Ngorongoro
After breakfast, we will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel. Depart for Arusha town via the Namanga border town for immigration formalities. Arrive in time for lunch then proceed to the crater rim for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Ngorongoro
After breakfast, taking a picnic lunches with you descend down to the crater floor for a full day of tracking game with your guide. The crater is 670m deep and 260km square wide, making it the largest in the world. The crater contains all the big five, hippos, cheetah, antelopes and spotted hyena. Black rhino and leopard can be seen by luck as the two are extremely shy and elusive. The birds seen here include eagle, vulture, and flamingos in the Crater Lake, stork, bats, giant vulture, sacred ibis, kori bustard, black smith plover, long necked heron and the cattle eagle. Other game such as velvet monkey, jackal, foxes, rock and tree hyraxes, warthog, gnu, zebra and hare can be seen with relative ease. You will have a break for lunch at the Ngoitoktok springs picnic site. In the evening you will ascend up and out of the narrow and steep crater walls, which is a thrilling exercise. Day 3: Ngorongoro/ Nairobi
After breakfast, drive back to Arusha for lunch, bypassing maize and coffee plantations in the crater’s immediate environs, after lunch, drive to Nairobi arriving in the evening.
During this 5 days camping safari, you will visit the best National parks and game reserves of the northern Tanzania’s circuit. You will get the opportunity to come closer to the rare tree climbing lions in Lake Manyara , visit the Largest crater in the world “ Ngorongoro” , unbroken volcanic caldera which is inhabited by 30,000 animals, all protected within the confines of the Crater walls. Then to Serengeti which is famous for the annual migration of close to 800,000 zebras and wildbeests that move as a great mass across the savanna in a follow the leader fashion in search for food and water in mid july to October.
